HISTORY OF THE CENTRE

On January 6th, 1986, the doors of the Centre opened to receive 6 children of varying ages in two renovated classrooms. We had 3 staff and a capacity of 24 children. Since then, our staff has grown to over 21 Educators and a licensed capacity of 134 children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. We now have 7 classrooms and over 90 families using our facilities. Because we are located in the Port Hope High School, we have the advantage of working with and instructing co-op students during their placements. We offer a full range of programs- full day, half day, Before/after School, lunch supervision, PA days. Our Infant room opened in the fall of 2009 offering space for up to 10 Infants. On January 2nd 2025 we opened our second location at 81 Mill street (Riverside Site) . At Riverside we are licensed for 70 children, from Toddler to Preschool.
